Flex For Financial Empowerment - A Trap Yoga Experience
Most people have no idea that financial abuse is involved in 99% of all domestic violence cases. Unfortunately, it is the leading cause for victims staying in an unhealthy relationship. The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence through financial empowerment.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and this year, Meeyogi partnered with Purple Purse to assist in bringing awareness to the cause and empower individuals through a Trap Yoga experience. Our Founder, Mya Cato, and DJ Donny da Don led an all-level flow to build strength in the body and mind through dynamic movement and reaffirming music.
According to the Allstate Foundation, “…one in four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime – that’s more than breast cancer, ovarian cancer and lung cancer combined.” It doesn't discriminate- it affects every class, race, gender, and community. It is a sad reality but it doesn't have to be. To learn more about how an abuser may try to take control of their partner's financial resources or how you can be an agent of change, visit purplepurse.com.

If you or someone you know needs immediate help from a dangerous situation, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233).
